The turnout rate in the 2019 elections marks the highest voter participation in 20 years and the first time since the first direct European Parliament elections that such a high turnout has been recorded.
The elections, which were held on May 23, 2019, were the 9th elections for a directly elected European Parliament from the Netherlands.
