Manager Departs After Leading Club to Sixth Place Finish

Innovative Italian Coach Ends Contract by Mutual Consent

Brighton Hove Albion manager Roberto De Zerbi will leave the club after their final Premier League match of the season, the club has announced. The Italian coach, who led Brighton to their highest ever league finish after taking over in September 2022, will end his contract by mutual consent.

Under De Zerbi, Brighton finished sixth in the Premier League this season, securing a place in next season's Europa League. The Italian manager, known for his attacking style of play, has been praised for the progress he has made with the club.

De Zerbi's departure comes as a surprise to many, after the Italian manager led the club to their first European qualification in their history. However, the club has said that it is mutually agreed that De Zerbi will leave after the final game of the season.

Roberto De Zerbi was the head coach of Brighton Hove Albion from September 2022 to May 2024. Born in Brescia, Italy, in 1979, he began his coaching career in the Italian lower divisions before moving to Ukraine in 2016. He then had successful spells with Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk before joining Brighton in 2022.

De Zerbi's impressive work at Brighton has led to him being linked with a number of top jobs in Europe. It remains to be seen where he will end up, but the Italian manager is sure to be in high demand after his successful spell in England.
